HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MUSIC MAESTRO RAVI SHANKAR

Happy Birthday to a magnificent artist!  Last year the world lost Indian classical musician and composer RAVI SHANKAR (1920-2012) a true music legend and creative force. Shankar was born in India and moved to Paris in 1930 where he received most of his education. From the age of 12, he performed as a musician and dancer on tour in Europe and America with his brother Uday Shankar. His brother Uday proved to be a sensation among the entertainment elite in America, and numerous Hollywood celebrities of the 1930s expressed interest in adopting young Ravi. Ravi eventually found his calling with the sitar and became an international success.  He was a kind and loving soul, a prolific artist and a promoter of the arts. He is and will forever be missed.
