50S & 60S ICON TO ROCK NEW TV SPECIAL!

The icon in the image to the left was one of the instigators of the rock and roll era that began over half a decade back. Jon "Bowzer" Bauman is known as one of the founding members of Sha Na Na, a group that would become a television staple in the name of variety TV and a true torch bearer to the beacon of light that is rock and roll.

Bowzer is taking his love of 50s and 60s music to TV once again as host of the MY MUSIC special, “50s and 60 Rock Rewind,” on PBS. The show highlights original sounds of the American rock and pop scene with all archival footage of the hit makers in their prime.  All music lovers are invited to check out this program, which offers exclusive footage, rare interviews, and vintage photos from an era that continues to influence people and artists today.

So what’s this PBS special for?  To keep the oldies but goodies alive! Every month MY MUSIC offers a new set of unique songs to fill your musical library.  Each show is hosted by an icon of the times and just to give you a hint, the next host will be the legendary Adam West - THE ORIGINAL BATMAN!  (check local listings

The PBS special 50s AND 60s ROCK REWIND (MY MUSIC)
From the R&B pioneers to the teen crooners, the 1950s and early 1960s were an exciting musical time for the youth of America. In this all new MY MUSIC special, the spotlight shines on the original sounds of the American rock and pop scene. Fast songs, slow dances and the backbeat were all the rage as teenagers tuned in to their radios while they “readied for their steadies,” and went from pony tails to senior proms. The age of innocence and adolescence created rock-and-roll’s first revolution.

TV ON THE RADIO AND PE-WEE HERMAN = "HAPPY IDIOT"

Today is the day!  TV On the Radio just released the video for "Happy Idiot" with an unexpected starring role by Paul Reubens as 'Racer Steven.' Paul Reubens, the legend himself, PEE-WEE HERMAN!

Like the best of Saturday morning and Saturday night rolled into one, TVONTHERADIOSCOPE presents a mind-bending visual to the first single from the bands upcoming album, Seeds, out November 18 on Harvest Records. Seeds was recorded at Federal Prism in Los Angeles and produced by guitarist David Andrew Sitek.  <3 these guys!

Watch Reubens literally go crazy HERE.

"I had this idea for the video that I thought would never happen, of Paul Reubens as a race car  driver who slowly loses his mind," says singer Tunde Adebimpe. " I took it to Funny or Die and they said, 'That's great, let's go for that.'"

"I got to speak with him over the phone about doing it and, in between being blindingly nervous that I was actually talking to an actor who had shaped a LOT of my world view and trying not to freak him out by saying so, he mentioned that he's been a fan of the band for awhile," Adebimpe says. "He liked the idea, and, somehow, here we are with Paul as a race car driver losing his mind."

Directed by Danny Jelinek and written by Jake Fogelnest, "Happy Idiot" features Reubens and Karen Sheila Gillan, a Scottish actress best known for her role as Amy Pond in the BBC series Doctor Who and Nebula in the current Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy

Everyone form UK's NME and BBC to Rolling Stone and Billboard Magazine are pissing their pants because their new tunes are apparently their best yet!

"It was really fun to do, love how it came out," says Adebimpe. "I think our fans will like it. I hope so. The cool ones will anyway. The rest can suck it. I don't exactly know what 'it' is. But they can find it. And they can suck it."

Super TOTR fans pre-order here, including an instant free download of "Happy Idiot."

HOTTIE ZOLA JESUS UNVEILS HER POP SWEETNESS! EVERYONE GOES CRAZY!

Straight from Wisconsin to your ears! Zola Jesus unveils new album, TAIGA via The New York Times' Press Play series.  But this was just a sneak peak. The album in its entirety will be released October 7th, 2014 on Mute. If you're not familiar with Zola Jesus, it is ear candy for pop lovers with lots of catchy and contagious hooks and Listen to TAIGA in its entirety here.

For her 5th studio album, Nika relocated to Vashon Island in the Puget Sound to fully immerse herself in the environment from which the music was inspired. The taiga is the world’s largest terrestrial biome; a wild boreal forest covering large portions of Russia, referred to as the Northwoods where it connects in North America, including all of Canada and large portions of Eurasia.

To Nika, the taiga represents boundlessness; no law, just survival - at once innocent and raw, embodying naivety from its purity, yet at its core unforgiving and savage.  According to the artist: “The music on the record is massive, with big brass and beats, crystal clear vocals.
