NO MORE NICKLEBACK EVER AGAIN!!

A music blog has launched an attack on the Canadian rock band Nickleback and its a pretty rutheless one!
The blog created a plugin called 'Nickelblock' to eliminate ALL mentions of Nickelback from web browsers. Those who download the free service from Aux.com can eliminate all traces of Chad Kroeger and co when they're surfing the internet.

Despite enjoying a career that spans over a decade and the release of seven studio albums, Nickelback have often found themselves the recipients of contempt by music lovers. A survey done by Tastebuds.fm showed that the Canadian rockers were considered the biggest musical PEE-EWWW!!!
In brief, Americans would rather have Britney, Janet or J-Lo on stage than NIckleback. How they sold so many records I will never know.
Earlier this month, meanwhile, angry American football fans started an online petition to stop the band from performing at a halftime Thanksgiving show. Over 50,000 supporters of the Detroit Lions signed the petition, in the hope that Nickelback would be axed from the halftime show of their fixture against the Green Bay Packers.

Nickelback released their seventh studio album, 'Here And Now', earlier this week. Talking about the LP, Kroeger said: "We entered the studio this year with a vision, and it all came together. We're extremely happy with the results, and can't wait to share them with our fans."

NOEL GALLAGHER DENIES THAT HE'S IN NEW JAMES BOND FILM

Well maybe not that he's in it, as much as working on the music for it. Either way the ex- Oasis front-man Well maybe not that he's in it, they might have said that he was working on the music for it; either way the ex-Oasis front-man shoots down rumors as quick as they appear.

Noel Gallagher is denying rumors that he’s been chosen to pen the theme song for the new James Bond film.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the High Flying Birds frontman was being considers, more like considering accepting the gig of penning the music for the new 007 flick Skyfall, but the singer has shot down the "bizarre" gossip on his official website Noelgallagher.com.

He wrote: "I don't know where you've seen a story that's doing the rounds about me being offered the job of penning the tune for the new James Bond film? Apparently I'm being courted by '007 bosses!' A meeting 'will be taking place in the next few days'. With some guy called [film producer] "Michael G. Wilson" (whoever he is)!"

Gallagher then went on to add:
A 'source' says, 'Nothing has been signed or made official'! Of course it fuckin' hasn't! Who is this fucking source? Has he been on the sauce'?“

I love this man’s honesty and humor!
Skyfall, Bond's 23rd outing, is due to hit cinema screens on October of next year.

GREEN DAY MORPH INTO COCKROACHES!

On the subject of Green Day, I have behaved myself for a long time. When the band went mainstream in 1994, I shut my trap. Many of my pals shut their traps as well. For any of us involved in punk bands to publicly disavow the world's largest punk band would have come off as a massive sour grapes hissy fit. Also, Green Day's rise highlighted the futility of critiquing anyone for "selling out." It's hard to remember now, but GD concerts in '94 and '95 literally involved protestors—adults—waving anti-major label picket signs, as if they were involved in some kind of labor dispute. For years, I'd made selling out my own personal bugaboo-crusade. The Green Day backlash illuminated my wrongness. I corrected my behavior.

Fast forward to July 2011. I found myself with some time to kill in the lobby of a cheap Israeli hotel. In a corner of the room, a TV played a block of Green Day videos. Curious, I pulled up a chair and watched one song, then another, and another. I'd been aware, obviously, of their continued existence. I'd distantly registered that they'd kept making records and had produced a Broadway rock opera. Now I understood how much I'd willfully overlooked. While I'd spent the last 17 years ignoring this band, this band had not ignored me. They'd been hard at work making my life more difficult. I'd been hearing their songs for years, as the background music for my life in public. Their music had tormented me in supermarkets, lobbies, airports, and doctors’ offices.

The realization hit me like a ton of bricks. When I'd last paid attention to this band in '94, they were merely a gimmicky pep-punk act. In the intervening 17 years, they'd somehow morphed into something immense and terrible, a mewling behemoth that embodied the worst aspects of pop music: the preposterous pomposity of 90s alt-schlock, the cock rock awfulness of 80s arena rock, the preening jizz sock sincerity of 70s singer-songwriter ballads. Worse, they'd done so with the tenacity of a cockroach, refusing to die, or even peak.
Sitting in front of the TV, I did some quick mental recalculation. My long-hardened Master List of Hated Musicians had to be revised. Nick Cave, Guns & Roses, REM, and/or Lou Reed? Green Day is clearly, objectively worse. Even Natalie Merchant—the one artist whose public omnipresence matches GD—isn't quite as grandiose. Natalie, for example, never made me grind my teeth in displeasure, as I realized I was doing in the lobby of the cheap Israeli hotel. My list was inadequate for the task at hand. Where would they rank when held up against coral bleaching, computer viruses, dysentery, and organ harvesting? (I'm still working out the math on this one.)

Two months after my return, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was escorted off a Southwest Airlines flight because his pants sagged below decorum guidelines. This was another brain teaser. An insider source tells me that Green Day touring amenities include castle rentals, private theater screenings, and home living rooms recreated backstage for maximum downtime comfort. The band has sold more records than Nirvana. Fractional private jet ownership starts at $115,000 a year, which is a quarter of the gross from one night of the band's American Idiot tour. Why would such a man fly Southwest? Why further mock us?

THE BROTHERS GRIMM: LIAM AND NOEL GALLAGHER AT IT AGAIN?

Nope its just Liam being his usual lovely self...
Liam Gallagher has claimed his brother Noel Gallagher's debut solo album is "boring" because it has "no balls".

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, the Beady Eye singer admitted that he was pleased the public reaction to 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' had been positive, but said he found it dull because it had "no attitude".

Gallagher – who reportedly recently blew £3,000 in a children's toy shop on remote control cars and game consoles for himself – said: "It's [the album] all right. I'm glad that people like it, man. He's got good songs."

He then went on to add:

No balls, though. No attitude. Everyone knows what Noel Gallagher can do, and it's great, but it's boring. I've heard it all before.

The singer also insisted that he wasn't bothered that his brother's album entered the UK album chart at Number One (October 23), while Beady Eye's LP 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' had only been able to claim the Number Three spot upon its first week of release (March 6).

"Being Number One is not all it's cracked up to be," he said. "'The Birdy Song' was Number One. I'd much rather be Number Three. You've got somewhere to go then."

Liam Gallagher was criticised by mental health charity Mind last weekend (November 12) after he described 80s pop star Adam Ant, who suffers from bipolar disorder, as "nutty".

A row had broken out between the two men after Ant demanded that he and Gallagher sorted out a dispute over a track "man to man". Ant wanted to feature the song in question, which was penned by Beady Eye's Andy Bell, on his recent solo album but claimed that the singer would not let him.

However, earlier this week (November 14), Bell insisted that the dispute had "nothing to do" with Gallagher and he was sorry he had been "dragged" into it.

THE HOTTEST OF THEM ALL...

With twinkling baby blues, chiseled jaw, his unmatched performance in The Hangover ... who could argue with People's election of Bradley Cooper to the coveted position of Sexiest Man Alive? This year, the 36-year-old actor shares his status on the Sexiest Man list with Ryan Gosling, Liam Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Joel McHale, and Justin Theroux, Tim McGraw Idris, Josh Charles, Jason Momoa, Alec Baldwin, Dylan McDermott among others.

This year was a real tough battle of the babes.  Canadian hot sauce, Ryan Gosling I thought was a shoe-in especially after blockbusters Crazy Stupid Love and Drive. Then again, what about Captain America?  Need I say more?! Though Evans jokes that he looked pretty scrawny for most of his life, the 30-year-old lead of the summer blockbuster made everyone drool with his red, white and blue Spandex uniform.

George Clooney is always on the list, that’s a given, but how the hell did Joel McHale and Shia Lebouf ended up in this list? Are we talking about Shia, the guys who played the "Do you know who I am" card at the Cha Cha lounge in Silverlake and still couldn't get in? That mystery may never be solved and it doesn't really matter long as they didn't win.

Bcause It takes a lot more than simply being smokin' hot to earn the No. 1 slot on People's annual hotness rundown. Bradley's great relationship with his mom, his fluency in French and his humble attitude were also cited as reasons the magazine chose the "Hangover" star as their Hottie of the Year.

"I think it's really cool that a guy who doesn't look like a model can have this [title]," says the Hangover actor, 36. "I think I'm a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times I look horrifying."

6 Ways we are Changing the Ways we Consume and Create Internet Content...

Ten years from now we will interact with the internet in completely different ways. Roger McNamee identifies six changes that are already transforming the ways we consume and create content.

Why you should listen to him:

His 2004 book -- The New Normal: Opportunities in a Time of Great Risk -- offers business strategies based on the economic and technological trends that are defining this era. He also plays guitar and bass in the band Moonalice, a band known for its clever use of social media.

COURTNEY LOVE GIVES CROWD THE FINGER AND TAKES ANOTHER STAB AT DAVE GHROL

Will she ever learn to just just let go and do her job? Probably not. Here is Courtney love doing what she does best: telling off her fans, giving them the bird, reiterating how much she hates Dave Grohl and always entertaining us.
Courtney Love stormed offstage during Hole's performance at Brazilian festival SWU on Saturday night (November 13) after a crowd member held up a picture of her late husband Kurt Cobain. You can watch a video of the incident by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.

The singer spotted the picture during the band's set on the New Stage at the Sao Paulo festival and told the crowd member that their behaviour was "stupid and rude" and that they didn't have to live with Cobain's "ghost and kid" every day.
Speaking in between songs, Love said to the crowd member: "I don't need to see a picture of Kurt asshole and I'm going to have you fucking removed if you keep holding that up. I'm not Kurt, I have to live with his shit and his ghost and his kid every day and throwing that up is stupid and rude and I'm going to beat the fuck out of you if you do it again."

She continued: "You weren’t fucking married to him, I fucking was. You didn’t get kicked out of a band by him, like Dave, he did. Go see the fucking Foo Fighters and do that shit."

Love then stormed offstage for just over one minute, but returned after a member of her entourage demanded that the crowd chant: "The Foo Fighters are gay". She then returned and offered a new, thinly veiled dig at Dave Grohl, telling the crowd: "I don’t care what you listen to at home, but if a guy takes off money off my kid’s table, fuck him."

Hole are currently touring the world and recently pulled out of a planned stint on Australia's Soundwave Festival after Courtney Love discovered that her band would be below.

THE LEGEND OF MIKE BRUCE & GOD'S GUN

“I discovered the rules and learned when to break them; that was fun, which is rule number one.”

It’s always awesome to be reminded that L.A. is full of creative and inspiring artists. He’s not Tarantino, and that's ok because Mike Bruce is on his way to forging his own legend in the world of film. The man who began with a camera, a computer and a vision is now a Cannes recognized filmmaker that also directs videos for rockstars like Oasis' Noel Gallagher and the Dandy Warhols among others.
In 2005 he moved from Paradise, Northern California to L.A. to begin production on his first feature film, "The Legend of God's Gun."

“The Legend of God's Gun was my film school. I knew from experience from going to music school that you can't learn how to be a songwriter in the classroom," says Bruce. “You learn by doing it, by imitating your heroes, by engaging on the battle field.”

With no previous schooling Mike let his passion alone guide him and went to work creating what has inevitably become a cult classic. Not bad for a newcomer.

“With TLOGG I shot first and asked questions later. Then went back and shot some more. It was mostly me, a camera and a computer so I didn't have to answer to anyone. I could do everything on my own at my own pace and learn every aspect of filmmaking as I went along. I wasn't told the rules. I discovered the rules and learned when to break them,” says the filmmaker. “And that was fun, which is rule number one.”

"The Legend of God's Gun" is a rock-n-roll spaghetti western starring the band Spindrift and members of The Brian Jonestown Masscre.  It took longer than expected, but three years later it was finally completed and sold to Indican Pictures and Bleiberg Entertainment for worldwide distribution.

So what started a project among friends, including Kirkpatrick Thomas, the mastermind behind L.A. based band Spindrift, became something bigger than he expected and forged his path in film.
“In a sense, if it wasn't for Kirpatrick Thomas's musical genius, I wouldn't be where I am today. Making a film, especially a feature length film, is about the hardest thing you can attempt to do. The only thing that pulled me through was my desire to be a filmmaker and the music of Spindrift.”

Upon returning to Los Angeles Bruce joined forces with producer Cameron Van Hoy and penned a new feature entitled Treasure of the Black Jaguar. The project premiered at the Raindance Film Festival in London just last year where it won the Distribution Award.

Following a screening at Cannes the Hollywood Reporter reviewed it as a "Well-made adventure set in Sergio Leone-type terrain and blasted with Robert Rodriguez-ish firepower...a delirious descent into a heart-of-darkness, where survival instincts and base greed trump basic goodness and civilized values."

This caught the attention of Courtney Taylor-Taylor (The Dandy Warhols) who transplanted Bruce to Portland to make music videos for the release of the album "Earth to The Dandy Warhols".
Working in Portland with the Dandy Warhols helped him earn his stripes in music video production  and led him to his most recent experience working with one of the biggest rockstars in the world.

The best part is coming…

Mike recently directed three videos for Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds including “The Death of You And Me", "If I Had A Gun" and "AKA...What A Life!” All three are coated with twisted darkness, beautiful western styled cinematography and dreamlike sequences that keep your eyes glued to the end.

For Bruce working with one of Britain’s notorious ‘bad boys’ has been the experience of a lifetime. Gallagher gave him complete artistic freedom and Bruce gave him some fucking amazing videos in return.

“Working with Noel was the first time I've worked with someone who had so much trust in me. It was liberating. Once he approved the first script to "The Death of You and Me" he never fought me on anything. He gave me complete freedom - which is how I ended up doing three videos,” recounts Bruce.

“I made them all to be continued with a connecting story line. It was literally a dream come true. I've wanted to make a "proper" music video with a budget and crew ever since I picked up a camera. Noel Gallagher gave me that opportunity. He's my hero. Yesterday he was interviewed on VH1 and at the end of the interview he called me a genius. I am definitely not a genius, but I am happy he thinks so."

Mike Bruce currently directs music videos and is developing his upcoming feature “Desiree Dream,” a ghost story about a clairvoyant song writer.

DYNAMITE, SPIT, WHISKEY AND DIRTY ROCK..BLACK LIPS BACK IN LA!!

Atlanta garage rockers Black Lips have been touring heavily after their June release of their sixth album Arabia Mountain.
If you haven’t heard NME’s review can give you a clue of what to expect: ‘Family Tree’ is a rollicking, leaky banger of an opening track, hair combed with engine grease and zany sax parping away in the background – chalk that one up to Ronson, then. Speaking of whom, the arch swinger’s touch on the record is apparent but surprisingly discreet, his trademark brass applied only sparingly and a hint of Theremin bringing surfy, ‘Good Vibrations’ overtones to ‘Modern Art’ and ‘Bone Marrow’.

The former’s wreckheads-in-an-art-gallery theme perfectly sums up the band’s class-clown appeal (“K-hole at the Dali/Seeing the unknown”), and is one of their best flat-out tunes since ‘O Katrina’. ‘Spidey’s Curse’ talks about Spider-Man getting touched up as a kid and sounds like The Beach Boys – not the sacrosanct, tortured-genius version beloved of Animal Collective, but the feckless thrill-seekers behind ‘Surfin’ USA’.

Black Lips in their performance history have included (per Wikipedia):  “vomitingurination, nudity, electric R.C. car races, fireworks, a chicken, and flaming guitars. “ Sounds like fun right?!
Their latest stop is Santa Ana's own Galaxy Theatre. They are like dynamite, spit, whiskey dirty rock, and the most fun you’ve ever had all in one!
Galaxy Theater this Sunday, November 13, at 8 p.m.

Marc Jacob's Dakota Fanning "Lolita" add Banned in the UK

A Marc Jacobs' Dakota Fanning advert has been banned for appearing to "sexualize a child." Quite frankly there's been much worse and while the "lolita" aspect is present, Marc Jacobs is a brand identified with sophistication, innovation and distinction. Banned? That's silly.
The British Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has slammed the "sexually provocative" magazine commercial, which features 17-year-old actress Dakota Fanning sitting on the floor wearing a pale-colored thigh-length dress with an Oh Lola perfume bottle between her thighs.
"We noted that the model was holding up the perfume bottle which rested in her lap between her legs and we considered that its position was sexually provocative. We understood the model was 17 years old but we considered she looked under the age of 16. We considered that the length of her dress, her leg and position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality. Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualize a child," said the ASA in a statement.

The fashion designer chose the Hollywood star to be a "contemporary Lolita" after being inspired by her appearance as a 15-year-old punk rock singer in movie. The Runaways.

"When we were speaking about who to use in the Oh, Lola! fragrance ads - I had recently seen The Runaways. Dakota was in it, and I knew she could be this contemporary Lolita, seductive yet sweet," Jacobs said.

The scent was created by global fragrance company Coty, which has reportedly responded to the comments
saying it has not received any complaints and did not think the styling suggested the model was underage.

The only explanation art needs is art itself.
