SXSW: WHO ROCKS AND WHO SUCKS AND MORE SURPRISES!

Jake Bugg

Jake Bugg, Frank Turner, Eagles of Death Metal and Vampire Weekend are amongst the new wave of artists to be announced for this year’s South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas.

Before we talk about shitty Vampire weekend )sorry I jus vomited in my mouth a little) and Frank Turner (whatever),  lets talk about the new bad ass that is about to blow your mind.

His name is Jake Bugg, he is la 19 year-old English singer/songwriter that sounds like a British contemporary Bob Dylan. I mean he is green, but he's also an incredibly fresh talent who has been taken under Noel Gallagher’s wing. So, he's gotta be good right?! He also has the support of a lot of heavy weights in the music industry so expect to hear of him in the future!

Bleached
Both Turner and Vampire Weekend look set to launch their new albums at SXSW blah blah.(yawning). Vampire Weekend’s third and equally shitty album is influenced by jazz, Bob Dylan and The Clash according to Rostam Batmanglij of the band. Jesus Christ shut up dude! I may be influenced but it doesn’t sound remotely as good!

The music arm of SXSW will take place from March 12-17 and will also see newly announced sets from Allah-Las (get down), Ash, Azari &III (sweet!), Black Lips (fuck yeah!) , Bleached, Eagles of Death Metal (legit), Frightened Rabbit, Io Echo (werd), Jesca Hoop (she alright), Local Natives (our peeps), Night Beds, No, Tom Odell, Splashh, Toy, Tropics, Wild Belle and Willy Moon. Ok, NOW you ca be excited!

They will join the likes of Klaxons, Alt-J and Haim at the event, which will also see Dave Grohl appearing as the keynote speaker. Whaaaaa#!@!%

The Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer will follow in the footsteps of Bruce Springsteen who delivered the keynote speech at last year’s SXSW.
Grohl’s talk will take place on March 14, 2013 at the Austin Convention Centre.
