Andrew WK's ambassadorial trip to Bahrain has been cancelled. Boo!
Yesterday (November 25) it was reported that the hard partying singer had been named a cultural ambassador to the Middle East by the US Department of State. Everyone what like what the fuck?! Is this real? Turns out it was so everyone was like do it dude! Rock out in the middle east and teach the little kids how to party!
However, DCist now writes that his visit has been called off. I think whoever made the decision to make him ambassador got fired or something. Or they simply sobered up

from a night of partying with the party animal and were like oh shit, never mind!
The 'Party Hard' singer was set to travel to Bahrain next month to promote partying and positive power in the troubled region after being invited by the US embassy in Manama in partnership with the US Department of State.
A spokesperson for the US Department of State has now said that after reconsideration, the embassy thought WK was "probably not a best choice and didn't meet our standards." They added that he was also never officially named a "cultural ambassador".
