Can't Say You Didn't See It Coming

Katy Perry is writing break-up songs about her split with British comedian and actor Russell Brand. Duh! She has yet to release a statement on the end of the marriage. Her silence leaves everyone wondering what really happened?! Did he go back to his sex-a-holic days?! Drug fueled days? Or did she just get tired of his jokes?  What is known is that she is writing new material and its about her break-up with Brand.

MTV claims that the 'California Gurls' singer has been writing lyrics about the end of her relationship with Brand, who filed divorce papers last week citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their break-up at the end of last month.

"Ever since problems started to emerge, she penned her thoughts in a diary which she goes back to to draw upon lyrics for her songs," said a source close to the star.

They went on to add:
She has always said that writing is almost a form of therapy for her and she would often be found in her dressing room on tour writing in her diary.

It was reported last week that Perry had encouraged Brand to file for divorce from her rather than arranging it herself to avoid upsetting her religious parents. Reports suggested that her evangelical Christian parents raisdr her to believe divorce is wrong, leaving Brand to formally arrange the split.

Perry and Brand were married for 14 months before they announced the end of their relationship. Its been said that the couple had spent Christmas apart from each other and both then were pictured separately without their wedding rings.

In a recent press statement Brand stated that although he and Perry were ending their marriage, he still "adored" her and insisted that they would "remain friends".
