Phoenix, Dinosaur Jr., Liars
and the Ravonettes headline Culture Collide, FILTER Magazine’s yearly festival
in Los Angeles. The eclectic event will take place October 9-12 in various
locations in Echo Park.
Culture Collide is not as big as other music festivals in L.A. like FYF or HARD, but it
unquestionably has is own charm. The entire L.A. community participates in the event that turns local restaurants, galleries and warehouses into music venues. More than
twenty-five counties are slated to participate in the festivities that will feature music, comedy, industry panels, and happy hours.
Now on its
fourth year, the ‘block party,’ continues to grow its reputation for uncovering
new talent and bringing music from across the globe to L.A.’s backyard for an
incredibly small price. Basically, one ticket gets you four days entertainment!
Aside from the aforementioned
acts, this year’s multi-day experience has so far confirmed: Miami Horror
(Australia), King Khan & The Shrines (Canada, Germany), Iceage (Denmark),
The Men (US), Rob Crow (Acoustic, US), Medicine (US), Alice Russell (UK), No
Joy (Canada), Plastic Plates (AU), Mumiy Troll (Russia), The Great Wilderness
(Costa Rica), SiMoN (Japan), StereonoiZ (Peru), Iza Lach (Poland), Prāta Vētra
(Latvia), Chateau Marmont (France), Maya Vik (Norway), Funeral Suits (Ireland),
Mujuice (Russia), Hell Shovel (Greece, Germany, Canada, France), Wooster (US),
Okta Logue (Germany), Instrumenti (Latvia), DENA (Bulgaria), and PanSTARRS (Egypt) with more to be announced.
