Mick Jagger has revealed that
receiving an apology from Keith Richards for his infamous penis slur was a
"prerequisite" to The Rolling Stones going on tour again.
In his 2010 autobiography
Life, Richards wrote of his bandmate: "Marianne Faithfull had no fun with
his tiny todger. I know he's got an enormous pair of balls, but it doesn't
quite fill the gap."
However, Richards has now apologized
for causing embarrassment to his bandmate. "Well, I
think it was a good thing he got together with me and said that," Jagger
told Rolling Stone. "I don't really want to talk about it apart from that,
but I think it's good that he said it, and yes, it was a prerequisite,
really."
in a separate interview with
the magazine, Richards hinted that the apology may not have been entirely
sincere. He said: "We resolved it, in our own way, you know. I said I
regret if I caused you any, you know, inconvenience or pain, or something. I'd
say anything to get the band together, you know? I'd lie to my mother."
He'd even smoke some more of his dad's ashes, I'm sure...
