How exciting is this! Kick-Ass 2 is on the way and will feature an "astonishing" fight scene starring Chloe Moretz's Hit-Girl, says creator Mark Millar. Apparently that's not the only surprise the new feature has in store for us...Mark Millar wrote the original Kick-Ass comic books and also serves as executive producer on the movies. He ecently posted on his website about a recent visit to the Kick-Ass 2 set.
Millar wrote: "Shot down to England last week for some time on the Kick-Ass 2 set... As a producer, I've been watching a lot of this in the dropbox as it happens, but nothing compares to seeing Mother Russia (in the flesh) pounding Hit-Girl in the face in what WE KNOW is going to win MTV's Best Fight Scene Award already. I'm not kidding... this fight is unlike anything I've seen in cinema before. I'd watched the stunt team block it out a few weeks back, but this was astonishing."Additionally, the mastermind behind this hilarious and bloody comedy, revealed that the sequel is looking "a little darker and a lot bigger" than the original Kick-Ass film, but promised that it is "incredibly consistent with what came before". Released in 2010, the first film told the story of an ordinary teenager, played by Aaron Johnson, who reinvents himself a real-life superhero called Kick-Ass.
The film did not become a blockbuster but it has gained a cult following. I personally love it! Kick-Ass 2 began filming in September (2012) and the official plot synopsis has since been revealed. In the sequel, Kick-Ass joins forces with a "badass" superhero called Colonel Stars And Stripes, played by Jim Carrey, but faces a threat from Red Mist, the character who betrayed him in the first film.
The sequel is being directed by Jeff Wadlow, who also wrote the script based on Millar's original Kick-Ass 2 comic book.
