Liam Gallagher: 'I'd rather be in Oasis than Beady Eye'

Liam Gallagher has admitted that he would still rather be in Oasis than in his current band Beady Eye.

The frontman, who is currently working on new material with his new band, has revealed that though he likes being in Beady Eye, he'd still rather be playing with Oasis and that people have got the wrong idea if they think he likes not being in the band anymore.

In an interview with Live Magazine he said:

If people think I'm going to be happy about the Oasis split, then they’re wrong. Even though I love Beady Eye, I’d prefer to still be in Oasis, because that was my thing. Oasis was my life.

Gallagher also said that though he misses Oasis, he doesn't miss the huge venues they used to play in and that he much preferred the small shows he's been playing with Beady Eye.

He said of this: "It’s been great doing all these little shows, going back to square one. It's good to see the crowd and hear them. Long may that continue. Big gigs are soulless masses of people – I'm glad I've done them, but I don’t miss them. I’ve got nothing to prove anyway."

Gallagher also hit out at "this new disease of indie student music" and said that most of the new bands of today "looked like tramps". He added: "Look at these grungers – they just walk around filthy with matted hair and smelly T-shirts, looking like tramps – where's the park bench and the Special Brew? And I despise this new disease of indie student music – Bloc Party and all that nonsense."

He's selling out across the globe, he's playing Coachella, and now he's performing at the NME Awards! Seems like Liam Gallagher should have put his mouth to work on singing rather than badmouthing big bro Noel Gallagher! Its been months since we head anything about Beady Eye - don't get me wrong they're awesome - and well what else have they been up to? You tell me? On the other hand Noel is kicking ass!

Noel Gallagher has been confirmed as one of the performers at this year's NME Awards.

The High Flying Birds man, who's also due to pick up our Godlike Genius Award, will take to the stage to play at the ceremony at O2 Academy Brixton on February 29.

Other names announced to be performing at the ceremony include Kasabian and The Vaccines, while The Horrors and Florence And The Machine are set to perform a very special collaboration on the night.

Arctic Monkeys have scored seven nominations at the bash, while the likes of Muse, Kasasbian and Florence are up for three. The Horrors, Hurts and The Vaccines are among the acts with nods in two categories.

Meanwhile, a special collectors' issue dedicated to Noel Gallagher is out today. NOEL GALLAGHER DENIES THAT HE'S IN NEW JAMES BOND FILM

Well maybe not that he's in it, as much as working on the music for it. Either way the ex- Oasis front-man Well maybe not that he's in it, they might have said that he was working on the music for it; either way the ex-Oasis front-man shoots down rumors as quick as they appear.

Noel Gallagher is denying rumors that he’s been chosen to pen the theme song for the new James Bond film.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the High Flying Birds frontman was being considers, more like considering accepting the gig of penning the music for the new 007 flick Skyfall, but the singer has shot down the "bizarre" gossip on his official website Noelgallagher.com.

He wrote: "I don't know where you've seen a story that's doing the rounds about me being offered the job of penning the tune for the new James Bond film? Apparently I'm being courted by '007 bosses!' A meeting 'will be taking place in the next few days'. With some guy called [film producer] "Michael G. Wilson" (whoever he is)!"

Gallagher then went on to add:

A 'source' says, 'Nothing has been signed or made official'! Of course it fuckin' hasn't! Who is this fucking source? Has he been on the sauce'?“

I love this man’s honesty and humor!

Skyfall, Bond's 23rd outing, is due to hit cinema screens on October of next year.

Liam Gallagher has claimed his brother Noel Gallagher's debut solo album is "boring" because it has "no balls".

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, the Beady Eye singer admitted that he was pleased the public reaction to 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' had been positive, but said he found it dull because it had "no attitude".

Gallagher – who reportedly recently blew £3,000 in a children's toy shop on remote control cars and game consoles for himself – said: "It's [the album] all right. I'm glad that people like it, man. He's got good songs."

He then went on to add:

No balls, though. No attitude. Everyone knows what Noel Gallagher can do, and it's great, but it's boring. I've heard it all before.

The singer also insisted that he wasn't bothered that his brother's album entered the UK album chart at Number One (October 23), while Beady Eye's LP 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' had only been able to claim the Number Three spot upon its first week of release (March 6).

"Being Number One is not all it's cracked up to be," he said. "'The Birdy Song' was Number One. I'd much rather be Number Three. You've got somewhere to go then."

Liam Gallagher was criticised by mental health charity Mind last weekend (November 12) after he described 80s pop star Adam Ant, who suffers from bipolar disorder, as "nutty".

A row had broken out between the two men after Ant demanded that he and Gallagher sorted out a dispute over a track "man to man". Ant wanted to feature the song in question, which was penned by Beady Eye's Andy Bell, on his recent solo album but claimed that the singer would not let him.

However, earlier this week (November 14), Bell insisted that the dispute had "nothing to do" with Gallagher and he was sorry he had been "dragged" into it.

Well I don't know about entire bands bu former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher and Blur singer Damon Albarn have definitely put their Britpop feud behind them after 15 years.

The former Oasis guitarist said a chance meeting with the Damon - whose band Blur went head to head with Noel's in the charts and a bitter war of words in 1994 - led to them having a beer and settling their differences.


He told Shortlist Magazine: "Funnily enough, when I was out last night, I bumped into him. I literally haven't seen the guy for 15 f***ing years and I bump into him in some club. We both went, 'Hey! F***ing hell!' and then he said, 'Come on, let's go for a beer.'
"So we're sitting having a beer, just going, 'What the f**k was that about 15 years ago? That was mental.'

"Then he said, 'It was a great time though,' and I was like, 'Yeah, it was a f***ing good laugh.' It was cool man."
While Noel, 44, has put his feud with Damon behind him, his bitter fall out with his brother and former Oasis bandmate, Liam - which led to the band's split in August 2009 - continues, and it annoys Noel that he constantly gets mistaken for his sibling on the London Underground.
He added: "I always get this, 'Excuse me, mate, aren't you Liam Gallagher?' F**k's sake. Sometimes, even when they ask me, I say, no and they're like, 'You don't half look like him.'
"For all you budding famous people out there, the key is to keep a straight face: 'Are you Noel Gallagher, mate?' 'Nope.' 'Are you sure?' 'Yep.'"

BRIT POP'S BAD BOY IS BACK!!!

Everyone knows that the older Gallagher brother, Noel, was the genius behind the Oasis debut album Definitely Maybe (1994), and well as their follow up (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995). 

Now the songwriter, guitarist and producer is ready to bask in the music limelight once again, this time with his first solo effort titled after his current band, High Flying Birds.

The album, set for a November 8 release on Sour Mash/Mercury Records, is a gem on its own, filled with the classic melancholy and in your face swagger the Gallagher brothers are known for. The video for The Death Of You And Me was recently revealed, and its safe to say that Noel Gallagher is one of those artists whose wizardry with words is a gift few possess.  

Noel and his High Flying Birds will tour this autumn in support of the album, dates to be announced in the months ahead. Noel has stated that during the tour we can expect to hear Oasis classics as well as the new material. "I'm proud of them and of what they mean to people," he said of the Oasis repertoire. "I'll never do a gig without playing them. They're like drugs to me."

Gallagher’s new work was recorded in London and completed in our very own, Los Angeles, during 2010 and the first half f 2011.
