According to the Hollywood Reporter, lawyers suing Courtney Love for defamation have issued a writ requesting her 19-year-old daughter make a statement clarifying her meaning when she said: "Twitter should ban my mother."
Frances called for Love to be banned from the social networking site after she used it to launch a tirade against her late husband's former bandmate Dave Grohl, accusing him of making sexual advances on her daughter.
Frances said the outburst was a step too far, telling Rolling Stone: "While I'm generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother, her recent tirade has taken a gross turn. I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way. I'm in a monogamous relationship and very happy."
She further went on to say "they got to her" and also "she's disappeared," and wouldn’t return her calls. Gordon & Holmes had represented Love from December 2008 to May 2009.
Love has had a turbulent relationship with her daughter. In 2009 Frances applied for Kurt's mother Wendy O'Connor, and aunt, Kimberly Dawn Cobain to become her legal guardians. After her outburst against Grohl, Love apologised, tweeting: "Bean, sorry I believed the gossip. Mommy loves you".
